Bank Holiday - Stubbers Green and Park Lime Pits

Totally the wrong time of day, really: around mid-day. However, saw a pair of Tufted Ducks at Stubbers Green (a first for me), and a Lapwing; then I moved the binoculars slightly and saw about another 80 Lapwings all resting beside the pool.

Lots of gulls at Stubbers Green; at first I thought they were Common Gulls, but thumbing frantically through my book, I think they may have been immature Black-Headed Gulls, since they all seemed to have a black spot a short distance behind the eye.

Today's tally:

Stubbers Green:
Grey Heron
2 Tufted Ducks
80-ish Lapwings
A few Coots
Innumerable Mallards
Equally innumerable Canada Geese
Equally equally innumerable Black-Headed Gulls
A single solitary Herring Gull

Park Lime Pits:
(As noted, very poor showing, perhaps becuase it was the middle of the day)
A few Moorhens
A few Mallards
A Carrion Crow
A Magpie

Not much of a list, but we had a great time walking around the Park Lime Pits nature trail, and finished with a pint at the wonderful Manor Arms - the famous pub with no bar.
